We just had my son’s bar mitzvah party at Powerhouse in Paramus and the updated space is amazing! Everyone had the best time, and raved about the cocktail hour. There was tons of food, and it was delicious! The emcee, DJ and dancers were top notch! They kept the party going, and even played some songs for the adults. They really heard us and listened to what we did or did not want. All our family and friends told us it was such a great party! My son, who is not always into big parties, had a smile on his face the entire time!<\/p>\n

I would definitely recommend Powerhouse to anyone looking to book a bar or bat mitzvah!<\/p>\n

We just had our daughter’s Sweet 16 at Powerhouse, and we were extremely happy with it. This is our second time doing a party with them — we had our son’s Bar Mitzvah party at Vegas, which they also run, seven years ago — and in both cases, they were terrific to deal with in the planning and everyone who worked the event was friendly, professional, and helpful. The food was delicious and plentiful, and the DJ played exactly the style of music our daughter had asked for and he kept things moving; many of our guests went out of their way to mention to us how great they thought the food and music were. Powerhouse is attractive, comfortable, and well designed. Lisa, whom we dealt with throughout the process and who ran the event in person, was extremely solicitous throughout the party to make sure that we were happy and to see if we needed anything. Kids and adults all seemed to have a great time, and our daughter was thrilled with the job that everyone there did for her. I have no hesitation in recommending them, and they would again be my first choice for any events we have in the future.<\/p>\n

You always made me feel like you were just on it, and when planning an event like this, that means everything. Mia had the absolute best time, which was all we wanted. I\u2019ve been wanting to write to you since Saturday night but I have been inundated with calls and texts from all of our guests telling us what an amazing time they had at Jolie\u2019s Bat Mitzvah!<\/p>\n

Everything \u2014 from the food to the music to the games to the photo booth and candy bar was such a huge hit!! Some of the specific foods people keep raving about are: the steak and the entire \u201cchipotle\u201d bar, the waffle fries, the chicken tenders, the pasta, the meatballs, the funnel cake, and, of course, the chocolate chip cookies! The pretzels and hot chocolate to go was also very, very much loved!!<\/p>\n

The entire staff was absolutely amazing. Sam made us feel like we were the most important people; his vast experience is obvious and he really knows what it takes to make a great party. Smitty is pure magic. He has such a gift in being able to connect to every single person \u2014 kids, teens and adults. His energy seems limitless and he truly was the life of the party. While he may think of himself as \u201cjust regular\u201d, he is certainly far from that!! The DJ and the dancers were also amazing – their instincts for what was needed to keep the party going throughout the night were on point flawlessly.<\/p>\n

The card games, photo booth, bars and all the food stations and roaming servers were run seamlessly. Everyone was professional, pleasant and knowledgeable. Frank, at the front, made me feel at ease from the moment we walked in until we left for the night. He was so calm, kind and patient and he took care of so many things. I was blown away when he loaded our car before we left \u2014 and even sent us home with some delicious leftovers \u2014 very much appreciated when I was way too tired to cook yesterday!<\/p>\n

What I also noticed was how well everyone worked together as a team. There truly seemed to be a sense of camaraderie \u2014 like a family \u2014 amongst everyone at Vegas. I even thought this extended to our outside vendors \u2014 our photographer and videographer \u2014 and I truly appreciated how well everyone really seemed to want to put together the best party possible!<\/p>\n

Jolie could not have been happier with every aspect of the party \u2014 and our entire family feels that way.<\/p>\n

I am attaching a few pictures from the night that capture our joy. Thank you so much for all the time you spent in putting it all together for us. We were so happy and we loved every minute!!<\/p>\n

\nWe were blown away on Sunday by how well the event went, we felt a great vibe the whole night which was confirmed by our family and friends who told us they had a blast and loved the venue and entertainment! You took the extra steps to add details we appreciated (like the screens outside and the special goldie drink sign) and to take into account our very detailed requests on lists.<\/p>\n

You thought out of the box, adding in the extra logos on the screens and running the mini montage in the tent and main area! All my questions were already anticipated by you, which were reassuring. And in general, you have been a pleasure to work with from day one when I called you frantically to schedule the venue.<\/p>\n

As I told you on the phone, your calm and positive demeanor helped throughout the process. And it carried through when it really counted- the day and night of the event! I hope you get the sense of how much we truly appreciate your efforts and attention to detail. We will highly recommend you (as others have to us) and Powerhouse in general.<\/p>\n

We also thought the staff was amazing! Setup was better than I expected. I got there early to check it and it was better than I had envisioned. We also really liked how you and Smitty made sure to check in with us about the order of things throughout the night. That really ensured things went smoothly. And Smitty and the dancers, in general, were a lot of fun and enthusiastic the whole time.
\nAlso, the food was delicious (thank you for all the yummy leftovers). At the end of the night when we were exhausted, everything was packed up neatly and delivered to our car with courtesy. Everyone seemed to take the initiative to make it truly the best night.<\/p>\n

I also want to mention how kind everyone was when I dropped off the supplies, taking the time to stop and help us and keep it organized. And some of the staff, before the party, even stopped what they were doing to take a minute and tell Goldie how pretty she looked, which made her feel so special, even before any guests got there.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m copying Melanie Pellegrino, because I would like to share these compliments and let Powerhouse know how much we loved our event \u2013 from beginning to end- and all the people, like you, who made it happen, with pleasure and ease. Every detail was perfect – the centerpieces were exactly what Sophie wanted, the food was amazing (the Bang Bang Shrimp! Those carrots! The cookies!), and the staff was incredibly accommodating with any food allergies or special requests. The emcee (Smitty? Sorry names are not our strong point) was unreal – we had a tough crowd and he got the Horah organized and people dancing (and laughing). From what we saw our photos by Anthony were amazing! We had nothing but compliments from our guests, and most importantly the guest of honor! She was so happy about the blowy guys and the smoke cannon. Now for the details:. I was nervous about not being able to taste test the food. Being a foodie and all. The food was amazing right from the start. Cocktail hour right into dinner. I don\u2019t think I can describe in words properly how wonderful my daughter Natalie\u2019s Quincea\u00f1era was at Powerhouse Studios. When my venue fell through a month before the event was supposed to take place I reached out to PH and they were immediately accommodating, and we only had to push the party back 2 weeks. This venue really is like one-stop shopping and they were so friendly and worked with me on every detail, they even welcomed any decorations I already had and then of course, added the Powerhouse flair; from the colors, to the lighting, music and digital screens. The whole staff was great, from the Planner to Security, from the DJ to the Servers and literally everyone in between! They really know how to run an event; the compliments were endless between the ambiance, the food, the photo booth, the \u201cBars,\u201d etc. We had the time of our lives and it sparked some guests to want to look into their parties there. I would highly recommend the Team and the Venue. We wish we could relive it a million times over!<\/p>\n

Powerhouse Studios really got this all packaged up perfectly. The venue is so pretty and decorated nicely plus being allowed to add our own decorations was very much appreciated. The food was delicious and the way it was served was really nice. Loved that the ice cream bar and the frozen drinks were part of the menu and not an add-on. The photobooth was a huge hit and everyone loved that they could all have unlimited copies with different choice of picture frames. Then there\u2019s the best emcee ever Evan! We all loved Emcee Evan! He was so good at getting everybody partying. He\u2019s funny, a good dancer and very personable. You are so lucky to have him in your crew because he is excellent! Our DJ was awesome too! Everything he played was so good we couldn\u2019t leave the dance floor! I wish I could remember the name of our \u201cGuard for the night\u201d as he introduced himself, he was really nice and on top of his game! He made us feel safe. The rest of the crew was so nice and gave excellent service.<\/p>\n

Had I known that the robot was such a tremendous success I might have paid for a double session or maybe spacing it apart or keeping it for a bit longer which I know may be have been difficult for the person inside of the suit. But let me tell you the amount of people that raved about it I can\u2019t even begin to express. Over the past four days since the party, I have received so so many compliments and people asking where did I get such an incredible group of entertainers?<\/p>\n

I can\u2019t say enough about Vegas. Ever since March, it was clear that our son\u2019s special day would not look the way we had planned. It exceeded every expectation and was better than we could have imagined. He continued to be the best support from beginning to end of our event. I truly can\u2019t say enough good things about him. DJ Mario was incredible. Kept everyone dancing and was a delight. Happy and a true fun presence. The bar tender was on point. Saw me coming and had what I wanted in hand already! Ha! The woman making smoothies was super pleasant. Everyone on staff was on top of the food, nothing ever looked empty. And the photographer!!!!!!!!!!! Wow!! He was so awesome!! What a fantastic job he did. I just wanted to send a note to thank you and the entire Vegas team. We had a phenomenal day from start to finish. You were so responsive to all of my questions it really put me at easy that everything would be perfect on the actual day.<\/p>\n

We were so happy with everything! The room for the service was set up beautifully. It felt intimate and very much like a worship space. When it was over our guest walked right into a happy, joyful, party atmosphere. Smitty was amazing with the kids and adults. He kept the kids engaged and used his good sense of humor to keep the adults laughing. Watching the montage on the massive screen was pretty awesome! My daughter is very literal so when I asked her if she had been to the photobooth yet- she told me “there was no photo booth just a little room with a woman and a camera.” When I walked over I found what she said to be true and when I looked at the pictures that were being printed– they were 1000 times better then any photo booth pictures I have ever seen. And the woman taking the pictures made sure that the pictures she took were good ones. That format was a really nice surprise. I was also pleasantyly surpised that Smitty handed out some hats, sunglasses, light up bracelet and glow stick necklaces. Sam had mentioned that we should not purchase that kind of stuff and we should do some t-shits and gift card- so that is what we did. I was feeling a little badly that we were not giving out any of the other typical party dj give away and then Smitty gave out just the perfect amount. It was another nice surprise. The food was delicious including the ice cream. At the end of the day the all of left over stuff was quickly packed up so it was easy to finish out the party and be on our way. I know that staff was rushing around resting the room for the next party but we did not feel rushed or pressured to leave. We were able to say our last goodbyes to our guest and then head home.<\/p>\n

Please pass along my sincere appreciation to Sam and the entire team. Sam was great. He made the entire experience so easy. I asked for his recommendations and all of them were spot on. From the first time we met to review food and linen choices, to the Thursday before when we dropped off all of our stuff everything was so smooth and easy. I was able to be completely relax the entire day of the celebration. And most importantly, my kids had the most perfect day! They were so happy and relaxed. They were happy that their friends were totally engaged and that everyone had a great time!<\/p>\n

I thought I should get my words into an email while everything from Saturday is still fresh in my mind. I am blown away by just how special and amazing Ben\u2019s party was at Powerhouse. When you told me not to worry, that everything would go off without a hitch, that you\u2019d done this thousands of times, I wanted to believe you because I really wanted a worry free party. But it\u2019s not in my nature to not worry so I insisted on meetings far in advance and asked a million questions. You were always patient, always accommodating and reassured me more than once that I really didn\u2019t have to worry about anything. And of course, you were 100% right. From the decor to the food to the music, to the party itself, not one thing was out of place and there was not one thing that anyone in our family had to worry about except for having fun. I could not be happier that we chose to use Evan for our MC. He was great with the kids and made Ben feel so special. And Devon and Jackie as back up dancers were fantastic. Thank you for all of the little touches that I asked for – making the mother\/son dance extra special and ensuring that the correct song was played, laying out the candy table so beautifully, making sure that everyone was sitting and paying attention to the montage, and capturing Ben\u2019s logo in so many places around the room and having his theme shine through so perfectly. And it\u2019s not just me thanking you. It\u2019s all my guests as well who each individually came up to me to tell me how much they loved the food, how much fun they were having and how cool of a space it was. I just wanted to write and tell you Powerhouse did such an amazing job with Alexis\u2019 Bat-Mitzvah. One of my own clients had their son\u2019s Bar-Mitzvah at your venue and they raved about you guys; so I knew we would be happy, too!<\/p>\n

It all started in the months before the party. You were so easy to deal with, there was no pressure on the $, everything was laid out very clearly and you were super responsive on emails.<\/p>\n

And then the big day. I was the first to arrive and the rooms were ready well ahead of time, Everything from the color scheme (which matched Alexis\u2019 dress), the layout of the space and I was able to get all my questions answered before the Bat-Mitzvah service started.<\/p>\n

And once the event began, it was perfect. There was a smooth transition to the cocktail hour, which was executed perfectly as the service room was transformed behind the scenes into the dance floor. Everything was timed perfectly, there were plenty of staff on hand and there was plenty of time for the kids to dance.<\/p>\n

I also loved the multiple video screens and the cool design. I made Alexis\u2019 entrance video, so I paid extra special attention. And thankfully, it was loud enough for everyone to hear and there were no glitches on playback.<\/p>\n

Thanks again to the entire staff for exceeding our expectations for Alexis\u2019 Bat-Mitzvah. I would recommend you in a heartbeat. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!<\/p>\n

For the actual event, Powerhouse knows how to throw a party! We cannot express how grateful we were to Anthony. Anthony was professional, kind, and an overall wonderful manager who is clearly seasoned at his job. Devin and Jackie were an absolute hit! Anthony was so attentive and especially knowledgeable and accommodating of Jordan\u2019s allergies. Jordan loved that he could eat so much of the food! The food was amazing! So many compliments. The salmon in particular, and the grilled vegetables Mediterranean platter in the appetizers. Everything, honestly! My mom remarked on how attentive all the servers were, and she was especially impressed that the servers with the pass-around appetizers offered them to the adults who were sitting at the tables during cocktail hour, not just to the people standing up.<\/p>\n

So many compliments on Smitty, of course! He was nonstop! And paced things perfectly! He read the crowd of kids very well and kept them interested and engaged. The adults loved that he would walk amongst them and chat to them too. And the man at the front door was great at keeping an eye out for the kids.<\/p>\n

Loved every minute of it! We all did! My son\u2019s smile says it all!<\/p>\n

It was PERFECT….everything was wonderful. I really can’t thank you enough for all of your hard work and for a perfect party that everyone had a great time at. Anthony was just above and beyond and was really accommodating and “got” all the little details that made it great. He ran the show and I knew I didn’t need to worry. The music was exactly what Zach wanted and what the kids liked. The food was exceptionally good. To be honest, I was having more of a kids party so the adults weren’t really expecting anything from the food and EVERYONE commented that the food was EXCELLENT! It really was a great party. My son just LOVED it and said it was more fun than he even expected.<\/p>\n

Smitty is BEYOND amazing and the dancers were GREAT. Loved Jackie and Evan! They were fun and sweet and got the kids motivated.<\/p>\n

I also MUST comment on the photographer Brian. I am a HUGE picture person and was concerned because I never met, spoke to or gave any instruction to Brian. But HE GOT IT! I saw some of the pictures on the screen and can already tell what a great job he did. Not to mention he has the BEST personality and got my situation (divorce etc) immediately and handled everything with care.<\/p>\n

Those hot chocolate chip cookies were the talk of the party! AMAZING!<\/p>\n

I am going to go on the Livingston moms Bar Mitzvah site and rave about all of you and will do the same on yelp etc! It was perfect. Thank you, thank you, thank you!<\/p>\n
